Alston House Reviews

We had a fantastic weekend at Alston House for my husbands 70th birthday. The house is amazing and has everything you need. The only small things I would recommend would be for more tea towels and larger baking trays. The setting is tranquil and very peaceful. The narrow lane takes a little getting used to but is manageable with slow speed and careful driving. I would stay at Alston House again and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.

We absolutely loved our time in this property. From the moment we arrived until the final hour it was everything we needed. The house is spectacular with a mix of practicality, comfort and luxury. It catered for everyone and it made the stay very special. We will be looking at returning in the near future.

Alston House is immaculate and incredibly comfortable. The size of the house as well as the layout worked really well for a gathering of extended family. The addition of the hot tub and games room meant everyone was easily entertained. The house was very comfortable and decorated to a very high standard. A little bit more equipment required in the kitchen as making a roast for 9 required some creative use of utensils and saucepans, as well as the addition of some tea towels and the house would reach perfection.

The house is just beautiful and we had an amazing family Christmas there. We would recommend it in a heartbeat. The only reason we didnt give the full five stars was because of the lack of kitchen equipment. Luckily some family members were joining us a day later and brought some tins and large bowls with them. The kitchen could do with baking tins, sieve, scales, large bowls, serving dishes, decent potato peeler etc. Also, the bins do not really cater for 11 people so we brought a lot of rubbish home with us, luckily we had a large van to do so. We didnt want to leave and would happily book again.

Really beautiful property. We are 2 families who go away together a couple of times a year we have been doing this for many years and this was one of our absolute favourite stays. Lovely location, very clean and modern, amazing social spaces and huge so we never felt on top of one another.
