Woodpecker Cottage is a detached two-bedroom cottage in the tiny hamlet of Whitechapel near Preston in Lancashire. Sitting at the foot of Beacon Fell in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty it has spectacular views over the surrounding countryside and Morecambe Bay. Step inside and you'll notice the double height beamed vaulted ceiling immediately. It's full of character.
The Forest of Bowland covers 312 square miles of woodland moorland and farmland. Walk straight from the door along paths and lanes or head to Nicky Nook and Grizedale Valley. Two award-winning gin distilleries are within a stone's throw. There's a local pub with great food within walking distance too.

Two bedrooms sleep four guests. The ground floor double has a 4ft 6in bed. Upstairs via spiral stairs is a galleried mezzanine double bedroom with its own en-suite shower hidden behind a frosted screen. Two bathrooms total. One pet stays free.
Beacon Fell summit (266m) is minutes away. Lancaster and the Lake District are easy day trips. Blackpool and Lytham St Annes are reachable via the Fylde Coast.
Woodpecker Cottage has a private covered hot tub for four set under a wooden gazebo plus a wood burner and underfloor heating. Couples and walkers will love it.
