Moody House Farm Reviews

New Year break for the family including 2 children. We had a superb time the cottage is as described and was very warm and comfortable. Plenty of rooms to keep everyone happy. Very well equipped kitchen and pantry. The children even used the hot tub which they loved. Was able to do two local walks one into the local woods and one around local reservoirs. Would definitely recommend it to others
Holiday home was great but i would recommend upgrading the 2 TV's in the living rooms to smart TV's like the one in the Games room apart from that fantastic place & i love the Hot tub.
Patricia
Great location and an amazing property to stay in. This is our second time of staying and there will be a third time soon. Nicky the owner is so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We would highly recommend this property.
Christine
Moody House Farm was a great venue for a family holiday. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained, the grandchildren loved running around and playing in the Summer House. The hot tub was a hit with everyone and got plenty of use. The kitchen was very well equipped and the beds very comfortable. There was plenty for the children to do in surrounding areas with a Farm Park not far away and Astley Park in Chorley. We also visited Worden Park in Leyland which the children enjoyed.
Hi thank you for a lovely stay the house garden and hot tub were fantastic and its surrounding area was beautiful looking out and seeing the horses everyday was a bonus. We had a fantastic stay thank you, and the information received by Sykes cottages was fabulous. Thank you A Presland

The cottage is just fantastic! It was absolutely perfect for our family. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were super comfy, the hot tub was amazing, and the garden was lovely. There was plenty of space for all of us, and we each felt like we had our own little corner of the cottage.

We have just returned from a 8 night stay . We have all had an amazing time, the pool table was a massive hit and we all had hours of fun on it. The hotub is a great added bonus we took a gazebo because of time of year. The gardens are lovely and well maintained. We even had a few days of sunshine. The house was plenty big enough for our family of 8, and the beds were really comfy. Kitchen was extremely well equipped. Great location, peaceful yet accessible to local supermarkets and pubs. We also had food deliveries with no issues and a few take outs too. Highly recommend Moody House I bet it would be lovely in the summer months.
Patricia
Great property and location. Nicky the owner is extremely accommodating and the welcome pack which included our dog was a nice touch. Would highly recommend and would say there again.
Beverley
Beautiful cottage in an idylic setting. Our host Nicki was vety helpful came to our assistance very quickly when neeeded. A gazeebo cover to the hot tub would be ideal for the time of year we visited and a grounf floor toilet would have been good. The above are just suggestions it ddid not have s impact on our stay. We will definnitely visit again.
Moody House Farm was a lovely property and well equipt. Although we had 10 people in together we all had our own space aswell if we wished . It was lovely having the horses come up to the fence and watch the squirrel running around. The garden was immaculate and safe for the dogs to run around. Thank you for the welcome treats .Walks to the left of property is wood's with different tracks to take. Straight down the road on the right was a lovely walk by the resovouir. Shops 5 mins in car .Not forgetting the summer house to sit in when it got cooler. The hot tub was large and relaxing. Great views from the property aswell. We had a day out at Southport about 40 mins away. Like it has been mentioned before a downstairs toilet would be a great addition especially for older or younger children. But had a great stay thank you.
Gorgeous cottage, beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Extremely well equipped, as it should be for the price. Ample space for a large family who could split the cost and you won't want to spend money going out for meals as its so nice to make meals and eat at the cottage. The only small downside is the lack of a downstairs loo, otherwise it's 10 out of 10 recommendation.

Such a perfect location for our family to stay to celebrate our daughters wedding at Rivington. The house had everything we needed and the gardens are lovely! It was a full house with three generations of family from across Canada and the US able to stay together. But even with 10 of us the house had plenty of room to spread out.
Amazing beautiful highly reccomended
Christine
Beautiful house and gardens. Very spacious. The pool table and hot tub popular with everyone. Will definitely be visiting again.
The listing does not do the property justice. Lovely and spacious with lots of space for us all inside and out. Quirky aspects and spectacular views. Lots of walks from the cottage. Although the garden is enclosed, it is not necessarily secure, as we found out. Hot tub and pool room a great hit. The family had a great time for our celebrations.
Laurie
Extremely well equipped and everything was of the highest quality.
A beautiful, well appointed cottage. A lovely surprise to have a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates. I have never stayed in a cottage with such a wellequipped kitchen. The cottage was very cold on arrival and we struggled with the log burner initially but did manage to sort it. One of the radiators in the lounge needs bleeding so this room was cold during our stay. A downstairs toilet would be a very useful addition.
ABSOLUTELY LOVELY! Had such a great time here everything was above standards and made my dads 60th very special. exceeded expectations and will definitely be back!! I cant recommend this property enough! The only small adjustment would be the radiator in the twin bedroom wasnt coming on but all the rest were but was no big deal!

This property was wonderful. Everything was perfect and so cosy and clean and even in the middle of winter such a beautiful part of the country. The owner was so kind to us.We really appreciate that.We could not recommend this property more highly and hope that we can stay again in the future.Thankyou Nicky.
Maggie
Host is friendly and easily contactable. Well equipped with excellent facilities.
Amazing farm house, fabulous countryside around, garden secure and the owner Nicky couldnt have been more helpful. Coal and logs delivered to door when the temperature dropped. Will definitely be back. Thank you
Charlotte
We had the best stay at the house. Everything was spot on and just what we needed. The hot tub and pool table made it even more enjoyable. The only improvements I would say would be for the dining table to seat 10 as there was 10 of us and we brought a table in from outside so we could all eat together. My grandparents struggled to get up and down the stairs for the toilet and I think it was a slight let down without a downstairs toilet but this being said, we all had the best time. Perfect location and lovely break away. Thank you!
We had a fantastic time at the house, it was equipped with everything you needed. Bedding and towels were spotless, there was also lots of hot tub towels provided and the hot tub was great. There was plenty of room for us 7 adults 2 children and a large dog. Garden was beautiful the kids and dog had great fun my grandson set up his goals and had plenty of space to kick a ball around and they loved seeing the horses next to the fence. The summer house is lovely to use at nights has lights outside and inside. Would highly recommend. But as previously said by others about the low beams I found them quirky.
Fantastic gardens, which were safe for the children and the dog. We enjoyed the BBQ and there was plenty of seating in the garden. The hot tub was the best weve ever had on holiday and the hottub towels were really useful. The pool table was a great success. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was wellequipped but we would just have liked some bigger saucepans to cope with cooking for 9.
It was perfect. The house, the location, the hot tub, the beds, Nicky the host, we had such a relaxed week. Good walks right on your doorstep for the family and the dog. Would love to revisit in the future.
Andrew
We all had a great time. Nicky made us feel welcomed from the start. No faults cant be picked from the house, host and surrounding area. Would highly recommend.
A lovely house, fully equipped with everything you need. Beds were comfy, as were the sofas. There was plenty of kindling and logs to use for the log fire which we used once, which was warm & cosy. The hot tub was great and well used! The gardens are gorgeous and provided a great safe place for our dogs to run around. The house is in a lovely location with great views and a short drive into Chorley where there is plenty to do. Nicky, the owner left a welcome pack of Prosecco, chocolates, jelly beans dispenser and treats for our dogs, all of which were much appreciated. All in all an excellent holiday home would highly recommend.
Michelle
We will definitely be coming back, we loved the house, garden and the surrounding area. The garden was very secure for our little chihuahua, which was brilliant and meant we could relax when letting them into the garden. I was a great size for us to play ball with the dogs, they loved it too. We arrived to a welcome pack of goodies, which was very much appreciated. The hot tub was used quite a few times over the weekend, hot tub towels are provided. We had family join us for a meal, at one point we had 16 people in the house and it was plenary big enough. It was great having a pool table, we had great fun! Thank you Nicky
Wonderful place, everything was provided. Top quality and spotless. The host was very helpful. We had an excellent few days celebrating some family birthdays.
Alison
Very comfortable and characterful property, spacious and well equipped. Beautiful garden. Minor quibbles in respect of detail ie, a 2 slice toaster is not adequate for a party of 10 people and more seating is needed in the lounges.
Hi The cottage is perfect I would highly recommend to any one who was looking for a relaxing time away . The host Nicky Is lovely , you felt you could ask her for any thing Definitely 5 Stars
We stayed at moody house farm this month celebrating a special birthday. Its an absolutely beautiful property with everything we could possibly needed for our stay. Nicky couldnt have been anymore helpful and we look forward to returning. The weather wasnt the best which is what you would expect for this time of year but that didnt matter to us as the intention was down time. There looks to be some lovely walks around and there are large shops within just a few miles drive. Thank you for letting us stay on your beautiful home x
Stephen
Great property and location. Nicky the owner is extremely accommodating and the welcome pack which included our dog was a nice touch. Would highly recommend and would say there again.
A beautiful house, set in lovely countryside. Absolutely loved it. It was ideal for our family celebration. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and the games room and the enclosed garden was ideal for our dog. There were lovely, peaceful walks directly from the property. We would all like to return for longer.
Rebecca
We loved our stay at Moody House Farm. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs and lots for them to explore. It was an ideal, quiet location for our dog who has a fear of fireworks and he had the best bonfire night in years. The location was also great for nearby walks including Rivington Terraced Gardens. Nicky was great and couldnt do enough for us including delivering extra kindling and burning blocks, the addition of Prosecco, chocolates and dog treats on arrival was a really lovely touch. Wed love to stay again, thank you so much.
Alison
Really enjoyed our stay thank you. The farmhouse has a lovely feel to it. The hot tub and the garden really are wow factors! The location was just ideal for us, in the country but close to amenities. Appreciated the accom being dog friendly plus ample off road parking.
Thanks to Nicky we had the absolute best weekend away in Chorley! Moody House Farm was just stunning and huge, giving us lots of space to relax and unwind. Plus the garden and hot tub were amazing! We shall definitely be staying again at some point in the near future...
Nicky the host was fantastic and the property had everything we needed and more. Thank you.
Katharine
