Island House is a five-star private island retreat in Lancashire. Built in 1849 for the Lord Mayor of Lancaster, this four-storey property sits on 6 acres within the gated Hermitage Estate. You'll reach it via a road bridge over the River Lune at the Crook O' Lune horseshoe bend.

The location offers direct riverside access with your own beach. You can fish on site or explore walking routes from the door. Lancaster sits less than 5 miles away. Morecambe beach is around 7 miles distant.

The house sleeps 24 across 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. Two king-size rooms include a four-poster with vaulted ceilings. Three doubles and two twins provide flexible sleeping. Two family rooms offer one with 2 double beds and another with 2 doubles and 2 singles. Entertainment spaces include a full-size snooker table, casino room, glass-roofed cinema and fully equipped hair salon. The hot tub, sauna and swim spa sit in the grounds.

Lancaster Castle (4 miles, 12 minutes) and Williamson Park (4 miles, 10 minutes) make excellent days out. The Lake District National Park lies within 30 miles.

Island House works brilliantly for milestone celebrations and large group gatherings. Three dogs are welcome to join you.
