Ruperts Retreat Reviews

Great stay! We loved the surround sound and huge TV! Beds nice and comfy, heating effective. Nice location, but walking along Longmoor Lane was tricky, preventing an evening walk to the local pub. Car advisable. Enjoyed Curling at the nearby Flower Bowl and a trip in to Lancaster using Park and Ride. Garstang market day on Thurs was good. A few suggestions to share with owner. Only 3 side small plates more needed. Hot tub was pretty dirty and could have done with a clean. A soft draining board by sink could have been useful, we were terrified of breaking crockery! Toaster took some getting used to, a basic 4 slice one would have been easier. Toilet roll holders would be welcomed. Quick instructions mainly to surround sound could have been useful although Google helped.

We stayed at the lodge for our 30th wedding anniversary and it was an amazing experience. The lodge was absolutely beautiful. Very clean and tidy and the kitchen is beautiful and very well laid out with all the cutlery you would need. The views were also amazing from the outside seating area. The hot tub was wonderful. One or two points for the owners to consider. When we arrived the heating wasn't on so it was quite cold inside the lodge being October. There were no instructions as to how we operated the heating system but hubby sorted this out in about 15 minutes. Perhaps instructions should be left out. We also could not get the electric fire to work no matter how many times we pressed buttons on the remote. Again instructions required. The other point is that there is a security light outside the glass front door which shines very brightly into the hall passageway and in to the living room. Perhaps a curtain to pull across would be a way round this as it is very bright. Just one more point new dining plates required as two of the plates had chips in them around the side. Some of the points mentioned might seem picky but they did not spoil our holiday in any way and saying the above I asked myself a question. Would I go back again and the simple answer is In A Heartbeat. It was a 30th anniversary I will never forget and we both loved every minute. Hope to be back next year. Mrs C Sharp
Ruperts Retreat is in a lovely quiet location but still convenient for visiting places. We would agree with previous comments that some of the crockery needs replacing and the lack of instructions is a real letdown. The only four mugs were chipped and there were only three dinner plates, two of which were chipped, in a lodge meant for 4. With a little bit more care and attention from the owners and possibly a small welcome pack with useful information, this could be a very nice lodge.

Gorgeous lodge fully equipped with all you need for a stay here. Plenty of storage space, very comfortable. Wonderful quiet location. Hot tub was so relaxing after a long day out walking in Fleetwood, Lytham and the coast . You need a car if you want to see the area . The ponds were full of ducks, and the little dog Roxy made great entertainment.

Property was modern with good facilities. Lovely beds and clean rooms. However, 3 things that could be improved. Some plates chipped and glasses missing, lack of relative information welcome pack to the local area, and not fishing available on site as advertised.
Cut the tree back over he hot tub
Louise
A very special place, beautiful location and comfortable property. The hot tub was great!

Lovely location only neighbours were the ducks and geese. Hot tub was lovely for tired feet from walking. Farm at the end of the main road to get fresh milk, milkshakes and ice creams! Small niggly things we found to be annoying main bedroom has a security light facing window so during the night there's an orange glow a blackout blind is required. No frying pan! we had to message to ask for one. Freezer was also not working correctly my ice was melting and I had to bin the ice cream. The road to get into the property is full of very deep potholes. No clothes airer we did a small wash due to getting soaked on a walk but there was no clothes airer we ended up hanging everything over radiators.
We really enjoyed our stay so lovely to have so much peace and quiet Just a ... We really enjoyed our stay so lovely to have so much peace and quiet Just a minor point to the owner the freezer is not working correctly we had ice creams but they just melted in the freezer I must point out this did not affect our holiday in anyway and wouldnt hesitate to come back

Fab Lodge with all the luxury needed in a beautiful setting. Could do with the instructions to heating etc but rang Hayley and we worked it out. Also maybe some more cup mats as there were only 2 and I noticed marks on the dinning table. But all in all was lovely and well be back.
Lovely property set in tranquil grounds, all you can hear is the local ducks
Absolutely loved this break from start to finish would highly recommend Ruperts retreat could not fault anything whatsoever, amazing! !!!

Wow... Ruperts Retreat is fantastic. This lodge is one of three overlooking the pond. The large terrace has lovely views over the countryside. The open plan has a fully equipped kitchen and breakfast bar plus a circular dining table. The lounge area provides comfortable seating opposite the feature fireplace and a huge television. The bathroom has a large bathtub for relaxing, plus a nice shower room. Very peaceful and quiet. We will definitely return to Ruperts Retreat...
It was a beautiful lodge and the scenery and quietness was first class Everything was there for you the only thing we couldn't work out was the Bluetooth system? ... we saw speakers in the ceiling...we just gave up in the end and had a drink...
Firstly you get there and no reception or anyone to help? ??then there is no frying pan or whisk or potato masher but the most annoying is there is no information about how to setup about WiFi. From getting there to going home not one person came to see if everything was ok??? What a shame

The lodge was excellent and exactly like described on Skyes Cottages. We had a very enjoyable week here, and the hot tub was a bonus. The lodge is fitted wall to wall with smart equipment, I do believe that a basic written instruction guide would prove helpful to those not as tech savvy as others. I would have no hesitation to recommend Ruperts Retreat and hopefully will return at a future date.
Lovely place, immaculate, quiet and relaxing, hot tub a brilliant bonus, as was the patio directly overlooking the lake, close to cities and villages, missing roxy the dog who came to visit us every day, the website pictures show it as it is, you won't be dissapointed if you book this place.
Wifi couldn't connect to internet that's all. Very minor so not a big issue. Overall great stay.

Had a lovely weekend away at Ruperts Retreat. Lovely location very rural yet so close to cities if you want them Preston, Blackpool 40 minutes to Lake district which was beautiful. Lodge is set overlooking 2 ponds enjoyed watching the ducks. Lodge itself is stunning massive TV and finer furnishings which give it that extra special touch. Hot tub was great! Highly recommend and we will be back.
Beautiful lodge, furnished to a very high standard. Lodge has everything you need and very quiet with lovely views.
