Homewood Reviews

It was spacious, comfortable, and set in a peaceful location with great views, ideal for a relaxing break away with the family. The cottage itself was generally very nice, although a few areas inside are starting to show some wear. One of the main reasons we booked was for the hot tub, so it was disappointing that the jets werent working properly during our stay. The owner did acknowledge the issue, but there wasnt an apology, which was a shame, especially as it was for a birthday celebration. Hopefully it will be fixed soon for future guests.
Claire
Ad provided really detailed information to get there which was spot on. Easy check in. So much space, our kids loved it. Games room was such a great asset with the UK weather. Showers worked great. Loved how we all had a bathroom per family. Kitchen was well thought out and really liked having different cocktail and wine glasses and serving dishes for big family dinners. Having the washing machine was great, we took an airer just in case but one was provided. We ended up needing both after a walk so just to keep in mind if a large group. Easily enough space for 3 cars. The one time we had to contact the number they were really helpful and wasn't an issue.
Brilliant house for a family of 10 get together. Lots to do in the area even in horrendous weather. Lovely walks nearby. Would suggest you bring towels for hot tub. We have a lovely time.
Jennifer
Lovely holiday in great location for exploring. We visited blackpool, morcombe, windermere, garstang, lancaster. Property clean and had everything we needed. Hot tub was great even in the rain we could of done with the instructions Lovely little garden with table and chairs had the weather been better we would of used this alot. One thing to note the bedroom above the games room has no door there is just one in to the kitchen this didnt bother us however you cannot really use the games once someone is asleep up there becquse of the noise. There is however plenty of places to either sit together or sneek off to find a quite spot on your own. All the bedrooms and bathrooms are a really good size some are huge. Lovey view over the fields and not over looked at all. We enjoyed the icecream shop a 5 min drive away and lovely walk down the canal a few mins walk down the road no pavement. We would have loved to stay longer as so much to still explore in the area.

Beautiful, large country house in peaceful location, perfect for our party of 10 while attending a family wedding locally. It is showing signs of wear unfortunately and needing a bit of a refresh. The grill pan still contained the tinfoil and remains of the previous occupant's meal, toothbrush holders still had toothpaste in the bottom, so hadn't been cleaned. Many of the cups were chipped, bulbs missing from bedside table lamps, the games in the games room were all incomplete and need replacing. All small points I know, but this house could be absolutely stunning if it were given more attention to detail.
Dennis
Friendly owners and cleaners. Very spacious. Great games room and hot tub
House is very comfortable and layout worked well for our family group. Generally clean but quite a few cobwebs and lots of dead flies. Sign on wall asking to keep windows closed but it was very warm and humid so had to keep doorswindows open would need to supply several fans to comply with closed windows. Utensils need checked had a frying pan handle break while using it splattering hot fat everywhere! Very lucky user wasnt severely burnt. Another frying pan handle is loose needs replaced! Spatula looks fine but handle is actually broken and very difficult to use. Small tongs would have been useful there is only a large bbq type. A problem with electrics was sorted asap and we really appreciated that and the gift of wine and cake.
We loved this property we really did. 2 things, the flies were a huge problem. They were inside the house when we arrived and were quite offputting as there really were a lot as well as many dead ones on window sills. My niece went down in the night and she said she opened the kitchen door and loads of flies flew at her scaring her to death. The other thing was no outside lights and this would have been helpful but other than that it was a lovely place.

What a beautiful home you have. I lived my lottery dream for a week. We loved and enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen was beautiful. I enjoyed a soak in the claw club bath. The bed and bedrooms were lovely. I had a few quiet afternoons in the sitting room with the lovely comfy sofas and rustic wooden floor. We all enjoyed playing darts and pool in the games room. Thanks for letting us make wonderful memories.

We had a lovely holiday at Homewood, a very large house, it slept 10 but as there were 7 of us, we had lots of space! We loved seeing the sheep & the beautiful views from the house! First time weve visited the area & we loved Lancaster! The local pub The Patten Arms was great, gorgeous food!
We were met by one of the owners on arrival, who passed on useful information about the local area. Lovely home in a rural setting. Well placed to get to other attractions in the area like Lancaster, Morecombe, Lytham & Garstang. We especially enjoyed the ice cream farm further down the lane from the property.Well equipped kitchen & bathrooms. Would have liked more towels in the bathrooms. We enjoyed the hot tub too. All in all a great stay.
Fabulous holiday home, stayed for a family holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Homewood and would love to go back again.
Deborah
Our stay was fabulous from start to finish.
Katherine
Above and beyond our expectations absolutely fantastic house with great facilities in the most picturesque surroundings
Perfect for what we needed 10 of us stayed, clean, loads of space, everything we needed was provided, friendly owners
Beautiful property, very spacious, everything you need is there, all loved the games room and hot tub , lovely area
A wonderful place. Very comfortable. Great location. The radiators in upstairs bedrooms were not warm enough, very cold rooms. The hot tub was cold we advised the owner but despite him looking at it it never heated up. Needs some kind of cover over the hot tub so can be used in all weathers. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

We visited Homewood as a family of 10 ranging from age 2 to 89 and we all had a fantastic time. This property is absolutely beautiful and is enormous!! It is set in the most beautiful country side and the surroundings are gorgeous. We particularly liked the horses peeping over to say hello each day from the neighbouring field. The kitchen is stocked excellently, loads of cooking facilities and large fridge and there is more than enough bathrooms with fantastic showers and huge baths. The bedrooms were so big and theres so much storage. Really comfy and cosy beds and a travel cot for our little one. There were areas of the house we barely used as theres just so much space!! Loved having so many areas to relax in like the sofa in the kitchendining room. We didnt use the log fire but was a great addition if we wished to. I would suggest bringing a few extra towels if using hot tub as one per person is provided but if youre anything like us youll use more. Anything you may need home wood has! The hot tub was fantastic so clean and warm we used it regularly on our stay. Loved being so close by to garstang & the ice cream shop up the road was great. Had some lovely walks on the canal & nearby. Loved seeing sheephorses in nearby fields. Sat nav takes you about 34 of a mile before the house but using the 3 words app it was easy to find the property. We would 100 recommend this property and would love to return. All of us enjoyed our stay, thank you so much!
Jillian
Weve just returned from a fantastic weekend and everything in the house was faultless. Everything we needed was provided, everywhere was clean and the house was lovely and cosy and big enough for 8 of us. Weve loved our stay and are looking to book again in the future. Just a tip for anyone going when its chilly take some firewood with you to save popping out to the shop once youve unpacked!
Lindsey
Had the best week at Homewood what a beautiful property . The kitchen is very much the heart of the house with us spending most of our time in there cooking meals and making full use of the hot tub . The horses out back are so lovely nice to wake up too on a morning. Everybody slept well its like a home from home . The facilities are fab everything you could need although if I could give any constructive criticism would be that we missed having a tumble dryer . All in all a fantastic week we would 100 come back again Thankyou xx
This house was perfect for our stay. Really good location, all the rooms are a really good size. It was well equipped, comfy, clean and homely. We would definitely come back here.
Lovely place and helpful owners
A very comfortable stay with family! We loved all the different rooms to relax in and the size of the bedrooms was great. The bathrooms were beautifully decorated but would have loved a few more towels! The hot tub was a great added bonus and we enjoyed relaxing in it in the evening. Overall it was a really lovely stay in a lovely house.
Andrew
Stayed here end of June to celebrate 2 birthdays , Had an amazing time chilling with family ,The house was well equipped and comfortable plenty of space,Bed was lovely and comfortable, would definitely book again.
We had a lovely stay! The home was fantastic for our family group of 10, clean, spacious and just perfect. The weather was great which made time in the hot tub all the better. We would highly recommend this home to all! Only small issue we had was the bins were full when we arrived bottle, cardboard and the large biffa and didn't get emptied the whole time we were there. Nothing the owners could have prevented though. Ashton memorial is a must visit!
We Absolutely Loved Our Stay This Week, Beautiful Family Time! The House is Amazing and Lots Of Space, Really Relaxing Stay. Got To Say It Was Absolutely Spotless Too. and Seeing The Horses Was Wonderful! The house Had A Ramp into It Not To Back garden Though And had Stepless Entry To Accessible Downstairs Room Which Was Perfect For My Mum. We Had A Boss Stay And Loved Every Minute, So Peaceful And Had Loads Of Fun. Plenty Of Cupboard Space For Shopping, A Wine Fridge And We Had Ice But Were Glad For The Dispenser Too
Michael
Location fantastic, house lovely, we really enjoyed our stay and are alreasy planning on returning. However I am disappointed in the supportcontact from Sykes when you have a question....these automated WhatsApp support chats just don't work. But overall, thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home.

What an absolutely fabulous time we've had at Homewood this last four days. It was a very long eventful 9 hour journey up to Forton, with several motorbike issues enroute, so arriving at accommodation that FAR FAR exceeded expectations was a delight. Homewood is stunning and we were blown away by the size of the place even though it took us a while to find the master bedroom above the games room, and the location was so relaxing. We would definitely consider a return visit, and will happily recommend to friends. Thank you so much.
We had an amazing time at this beautiful property, perfect location, excellent cleanliness and the owners were very helpful! We will definitely be back! Thanks guys x
Christine
Lovely size cottage, plenty of room. Although spacious the kitchen is ready for a update, cupboards looking tired Bedrooms huge but again wardrobes ready for update. Bathrooms beautiful. No door on the downstairs bedroom en suite which seemed a bit odd considering its a twin room. Overall a great place for a girlie weekend break especially with the hot tub, would highly recommend .
Philip
Amazing property and perfect for our group size 5 adults, 4 kids. Loads of room so we were never tripping over each other. Great location, just a short drive to Garstang, which had all the shops you need, and only 30 minutes from Blackpool for a great day out. We were slightly disappointed that the lower garden wasnt available to use. The kids would have loved running around it and from the pictures it appeared part of the house. Would definitely recommend and use again.
Beautiful cottage. Exactly how it looks in the pictures if not better! Perfect for a family getaway! We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely return!
Natalie
Great property for friends to holiday together. Friendly owner who came to check hot tub chemical levels whilst we were there. Would recommend. Thank you
Joseph
Excellent large property, not far from local pub and shops and the hot tub was a nice addition. Kids loved the horses virtually in the back garden .Owner was nice and let us check out a bit later, would definitely recommend.
Had a lovely time. The layout of the rooms suited us perfectly, we set up a craft room next to the main living room. Spotlessly clean. Appreciated the extra touch of the decorated Christmas tree. Hot tub, clean and relaxing. It appears the property is newly renovated, hooks on the backs of bathroom doors would be nice. The log fire in the living room added to the peaceful ambiance, though not to increase the temperature of the room. Maybe one of those fans on top to push the heat out into the room would help. Fabulous few days here. Would have no hesitation in booking again and we probably will.
Darren
A lovely home that we really enjoyed. Hot tub was great and the house is huge. Plenty of room for all of us and our 3 small dogs who we were kindly allowed to bring along after requesting prior to our visit. The TV in the kitchen area didnt seem to work stuck in start up mode but this wasnt an issue. The games room and Fireplace room were great. Especially the fireplace room where we chose to gather on the by evening to enjoy family games. Overall a fantastic break had by family and friends and would definitely book again. The Pattern arms pub a short walk away but do be careful if walking there as there are no side paths so you are having to walk along the road. Excellent food and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit. Great local walks alongside the canals also. One of the best places we have been to. Thanks for such a great stay.
Barbara
Everything good at Homewood. Very comfortable house with everything you might need. 1010
We had a lovely weekend in this fabulously spacious cottage. The facilities were excellent and the hot tub was an added bonus. We would definitely recommend it and would be happy to stay there again ourselves.
Elizabeth
Absolutely beautiful house, each bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen, dining space and living room were all spot on. Good for a big group not just because the house is large but plenty of parking space and a nice large hot tub. Rachel was lovely and we appreciated her sorting out the hot tub every morning. Very easy to find as well. Had all the utensils and equipment we needed. Definitely one of the best places we stayed.
