26 Hycemoor Way Reviews

The house was really well equipped, clean and really good having two bathrooms. We had a super stay and the wonderful weather was the icing on the cake as well as the hot tub! Great location for some wonderful beaches. The garden was also a good size. Would definitely stay there again.
Had a wonderful stay at 26 Hycemoor Way. Off road parking, excellent accommodation, very clean, large spacious rooms, including a wonderful, well equipped kitchen. Welcome pack on arrival was very gratefully received. Hot tub a bonus! Wonderful beaches nearby. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
We stayed her for a week in September 2025. The property itself is spacious and well equipped with everything you need as a family. There is off road parking, hot tub, washing machinedryer and dishwasher. The beds are extremely comfy and lots of towels provided. The only downside to this property which in my opinion doesnt make it a 4 is the property needs a repaint, all walls are messy, we also found lots of mould on the ceilings especially in the smaller room, and feel like it has been hidden in other areas by wallpaper. None of the bedrooms have tvs so you all have to share the lounge tv, the shower upstairs didnt close properly so we used the downstairs shower. Also the property is located in the middle of a council estate, and surrounding properties have not been looked after. Though it is extremely quiet through the night, the next door neighbour has a bad habit of unlockinglocking his van around 56am every morning which woke us up, but obviously this is not the owners fault. Overall we feel the property is located too far from the amenities, the hot tub doesnt have a shelter so can only be used in good weather, decor needs attention, mould needs attention.

We had a lovely stay at Hycemoor, Kath was very helpful as a host, the house had everything you needed and more. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Lianne & Family
We thought there was an ensuite upstairs but in fact the property has one upstairs and one downstairs bathroom. This could be emphasised. Great property good hot tub and garden table. Great rooms. Fully equipped. No need to bring your own towels again needs emphasis. We had a great time.
Wonderful property we had a great holiday there, the secure gardens where great for our dog to roam about and the hot tub was great the owner was a lovely lady who we met a couple of times, sofa's and beds where really comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The only thing I would say is the showers could maybe do to have an upgrade but this didn't stop us from enjoying a lovely property.
Michael
Plenty of space and well furnished both inside and outside. Only negative was the neighbour's dog barking everytime we used the garden. Impacted on the enjoyment of the hottub.
We had a great week at the property. We particularly enjoyed having access to two walk in showers, the large kitchen, the enclosed garden and the hot tub all of which were well used during our stay. We only had one issue which was quickly sorted by Kath, the owner one of us accidently turned off a switch in the kitchen that controlled the hot tub. We also appreciated the welcome gifts thank you. Happy to recommend this property to others.

Lovely property close to the beach and train station not much in the surrounding ... Lovely property close to the beach and train station not much in the surrounding area but there is a convenience store in the village, perfect if youre looking to get away from it all, property is very well equipped with some very thoughtful touches including the lovely welcome pack, only minor irritation was next doors dog that barked constantly all throughout the day but obviously out of the control of the people who own the holiday lets hands
We had a relaxing, chilled stay it was just what the doctor ordered. Beautiful home & very equipped, the little touches were very thought out & thoughtful, from the little things like dishwasher tablets, doggy bags, sugar etc, to the welcome gift of wine & biscuits. Thankyou. The hot tub was definitely a hit with us all. A great place to come & stay if youre looking to spending some quality time together, playing cards, charades, watching movies. We will definitely be back. Thankyou again Tracy X
We had a wonderful stay. The house is perfect, plenty of space, clean and well equipped. The hot tub was a lovely end to a long walk! Lovely to arrive to wine, biscuits and milk in the fridge too!

Christine
A lovely place to stay. Very clean and everything you could need and more. Having the hot tub was the icing on the cake. It was nice that the owners were on hand to help when needed. Loved it.
The property was very clean and had a lot of good points. But the property needed needs some maintenance, there was water damage on a number of ceilings, the ceilings in a lot of rooms are badly cracked. Both showers leaked from the upstand rail, and the doors on the upstairs shower cubicle where not attached at the bottom. There is an issue with the back door barrel, you have to learn the knack of unlocking the door.

What a great base for exploring the Lake District. The property is really well equipped with everything you need for a holiday and more. So much thought has been put into making it a home from home. It's the most comfortable accommodation we have stayed in to date! The extra touches, such as supplying tea, coffee, sugar, milk and the bottles of wine and biscuits was very thoughtful and gratefully received on arrival, especially after a 5 hour journey from Shropshire. Our rescue Sprollie, Lola, loved the freedom of the clean, spacious and secure back garden too. The immediate neighbours were also very friendly, and clearly used to having ever changing neighbours some kids popped their heads over the fence one evening asking if we had any children they could play with. Kath was very approachable, making sure we had everything we needed at the start and throughout our stay. Definitely somewhere we'd come back to as and when we are next in the Lakes.
Michelle
Beautifully presented property with pretty much everything you'd need. Hot tub was superb and just the thing we wanted to unwind in. Beach is a 1 minute drive away and great for watching the sun set. The street is quiet even though the house is on a roadside. Parking ample for the property and the location is nice and secluded. Highly recommend this property and host. Even had a thoughtful welcome gift for when we arrived. Quick to answer any queries we had.

Wonderful property located in a quiet rural neighbourhood. Its a great base location for exploring the Lake District, just be prepared to travel if you want to explore the Lakes. Lovely beach less than 5 mins drive from property with ample parking. Property is well equipped with all the things you require for a holiday, my mobile phone signal was bit hit and miss but the property has wifi so didn't cause me any issues. The hot tub is an added bonus to relax at the end of a busy day of exploring!!!
Thank you so much for making our holiday relaxing and part of making memories. The little touches, supplying tea, coffee, sugar, milk was very thoughtful especially getting in after a long drive from Kent. The kids age 10 and 13 loved thier stay and the neighbours kids were very welcoming and included our too. Everything was very comfortable and very clean. Providing dishwasher tablets was a kind gesture too. There has clearly been a lot of thought by the property owner into providing an amazing holiday home not just a house!. The hot tub was clean and in a private part of the garden so you were not overlooked by neighbours. Although we did not have a four legged friend with us and the property allows dogs, there were no evidence of previous pets only a couple of friendly local cats popping over once in a while for a cuddle. So care had been taken to ensure no dog mess was left behind. We have no grumbles. A family of 4 throughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Adrian
The house was all we expect and more. It suplyed a few extras which we wasn't expecting. There was a beautiful welcome pack. And we had a slow cooker which came in really handy. The beds was comfy. The only thing we picked up on was that it could have done with a second t.v in the dinning room. We will definitely be going back
Beautiful house and hottub great for a lovely relaxing break owner is a lovely ... Beautiful house and hottub great for a lovely relaxing break owner is a lovely lady that made us feel very welcome We would definitely stay here again gorgeous place
We had a lovely holiday with extended family here adults and an older teen. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. After a day's walking and getting caught in torrential rain it's the lakes after all! we came home to a hot tub so nice even in light drizzle!, piping hot showers, tumble drier, drying rack and toasty radiators to dry all the wet clothes and shoes and warm up. Thoroughly welcome! The weather cheered up for the next few days and we were able to eat outside at the table, or enjoy a coffee there at breakfast. The garden appeared dog proof, and was lovely, but we didn't entirely trust Luna not to jump the gate so didn't let her out unsupervised, but that's Luna's fault, not the house Beds were very comfortable and all had extra blankets if you are feeling the cold. Very thoughtful things like bin bags, dishwasher tablets and milk being left made our stay easier, and a few bottles of wine very welcoming.
Brilliant location for touring the Lake District or north west coast, property was clean and tidy with all the facilities required, would highly recommend staying at the property. Excellent communication by Kath to inform us of booking in.
Leslie
Excellent stay, beautiful cottage in a very quiet setting. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and hope to return soon.
Excellent, lovely quiet area, beautifully appointed property. 10 mins walk from magnificent wide open beach . Beautiful views of lake district hills.
Wonderful location a small residential area, so quiet, but not isolated with the coast nearby and wonderful mountain scenery a short drive away. The property was very clean and comfortable with plenty of cupboard space in the kitchen. It was perfect for my needs.
Serena
Such a fabulous cottage! Kitchen is very spacious and well furnished with everything you need. Lounge is cosy and comfy. Downstairs and upstairs full size bathrooms are so useful. Bedrooms are lovely with comfy beds. Towels are supplied for once you're out the hot tub which is perfect at night for stargazing. Parking is plenty. Location is brilliant the beach is a 10 minute walk away, so many places to visit! We planned a few of our walks with ice cream shops in mind... All in all, a perfect place for base camp whether you stay in or go exploring
A lovely property and very well equipped. We took a small dog and we were unable to let him out without a lead. Would be no problem with a larger breed. We hadnt realised how remote the property was going to be our mistake thus getting to places was rather time consuming.
The house is very clean, has everything you could need and is a great size. The garden was perfect for the dog and parking is easy. In a great location, the beach is only 5 minutes down the road. Definitely would return.
26 Hycemoor is warm welcoming & a very well equipped holiday home. It is well located for the beaches & coastal walks and for exploring the western lakes. We really enjoyed our stay & would recommend it for families, walkers & pet owners.
Cameron

Fabulous in every way! Would highly recommend 26 Hycemoor Way to anyone considering renting it for a break. Really comfortable and really well equipped with everything you need for a stay that is like a home from home. Great to have a secure garden for a dog. Kath went above and beyond in making our stay as comfortable as possible.
Jacqueline
Wonderful house. Had everything we needed. Warm and very very comfortable. Absolutely spotless, which for us was perfect. We booked the house for rest and relaxation. Completed some small walks whilst there and it was perfect. Amazing cafe within 45 minute walks, great food. The Brye cafe. Great week and place for RnR, and or hiking. Thanks
Christine
The property was immaculate, beautifully decorated. Located in a small village, but an ideal base for the lakes and the coast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Lovely stay at the cottage. So clean and comfy. Only let down is the location in the village really felt like we had come to stay on a council estate And I wish Id known or seen a review like this before I booked however we still had a lovely time.
Andrea
A lovely house in an ideal location for exploring Ravenglass, Eskdale and surrounding areas. The house had everything we needed to provide a comfortable stay.
